THE PARTICLES - 3 EPs (AUS)

Colour In, EP, 1979

Advanced Colouring, EP, 1981

i Luv Trumpet, EP, 1983

Australian post-punk band with girl (mostly) vocals and acoustic/twee pop inclinations, finely aired through mellow sunny sounds, diy brief ways and...gracious melancholia.

Formed in 1977 by Peter Williams (guitar, voc) and Mick Smith (bass) and they went through many line up changes. Singer Astrid Spielman added in 1979, Mick left in 1982... and the band lasted up to 1985. Members of them joined The Lighthouse Keepers, and The Cannanes.

Great '80s pop of the poast-punk Sunshine variety. Little known now, but an excellent band. There has never been a CD anthology of their work (basically everything here is it), which is a shame. If you like fun indie-pop this is for you.

Hi all, is there any possibility you might be able to re-post these EPs at some point please, I've only just "discovered" Particles (c/o Youtube) - I'm a big fan of The Cannanes but had never heard of this earlier band before - thanks for your help! :)
